Jewellery you never have to take off: D.Louise at Niche

If you've been anywhere near jewellery social media recently, you've probably come across D.Louise. The brand built a large following online, through customers who bought it, wore it every day, and couldn't stop telling people about it.

We've been watching them for a while, and we're really pleased to be stocking them now,  as one of their first retail stockists. That means if you've been wanting to see the pieces in person before buying, you can now do that with us, at our store in Leigh-on-Sea or through our website.

The story behind D.Louise

D.Louise was founded by Olivia Jenkins, who named the brand in memory of her mother, Deborah Louise, whom she lost to cancer. Olivia had no background in jewellery — just a very clear frustration with pieces that weren't built to actually live in, and a determination to fix that.

She found her answer in surgical-grade stainless steel, launched from her living room, and built a loyal following. Every piece comes with a lifetime guarantee against colour fading, which tells you everything about how confident the brand is in what it makes.

So what makes it waterproof?

D.Louise jewellery is made from 316L stainless steel. It's the same grade used in medical instruments, chosen because it simply doesn't corrode, rust or react with skin. The gold finish is applied through a process called PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition), which bonds the gold to the steel at a molecular level.

The practical result is jewellery that genuinely doesn't mind water, sweat, perfume or lotion. Shower in it, swim in it, forget to take it off before washing up — it doesn't matter. Once it's on, it can stay on if you wish.

It's also nickel-free, which makes it a really good option if you've had skin reactions to jewellery before. The stainless steel base means there's nothing underneath the gold finish that's going to cause irritation.

How to wear it

The D.Louise aesthetic is clean, modern and very stackable. Everything is designed to work together, which makes it easy to build a look without overthinking it.

For your wrist, start with one of the bangles as a foundation — the Classic, Wave or Oval styles all sit flat and layer beautifully. Then add one of the D.Loiuse bracelets alongside it. That combination alone looks considered and complete.

If you want a third piece, a birthstone bracelet or the Mini Heart adds something personal without making the stack look busy. D.Louise pieces also sit very well alongside jewellery from other brands, so if you already wear Annie Haak or Ania Haie on your wrist, these will slot in naturally.
