Kit Heath jewellery: British silver design at its best
Some brands earn their place in a jewellery collection through pure design quality. Kit Heath is one of those. Over forty years of sterling silver jewellery made in Britain, with a loyal following built one well-crafted piece at a time. Their collections feel both contemporary and completely timeless. So if you haven't discovered them yet, here's what you need to know.
The story behind the brand
Kit Heath was founded in 1984 by siblings Kit and Katie in North Devon. The origin story is one of those genuinely good ones: Kit, as a schoolboy, melted down the family's silver candlesticks to make jewellery for friends - a bold move that turned out to be the start of something lasting. He spent the early years travelling the South West in a VW campervan, selling to gift shops and jewellers while fitting in a surf whenever he could. Katie joined him on the creative side, and together they built what became one of Britain's most recognised sterling silver jewellery brands.
Forty years on, Kit Heath is an award-winning brand stocked by independent jewellers across the UK and internationally. Sadly, Kit himself passed away in early 2026, and his sister Katie now leads the company. His warmth and creativity remain central to how the brand operates, and as a tribute to his legacy, the brand designed the Big Love Silver Necklace with £5 from each sale donated to The Brain Tumour Charity.
Why sterling silver matters
Kit Heath works exclusively in sterling silver, which is 925 silver: 92.5% pure silver, the recognised standard for quality. Most pieces are also rhodium plated, giving the silver a slightly cooler, brighter tone and protecting it from tarnishing over time. This makes Kit Heath jewellery notably low-maintenance compared to un-plated sterling silver, which benefits from regular polishing to stay looking its best.
All pieces are accredited and tested to be free from metallic elements that can cause allergic reactions, making them a practical choice for anyone with metal sensitivities. It's a detail that matters more than people often realise, particularly when buying as a gift.
The collections
Kit Heath's designs draw consistently from similar areas: the British coast, the natural world, organic shapes, and clean forms that age well. Here are some of the key Kit Heath collections you'll find at Niche.
Coast is probably the collection most associated with Kit Heath's roots. Inspired by the shoreline, it features smoothly honed, pebble-like forms in sterling silver that are tactile and organic. The Coast Pebble linking necklet and slider bracelet layer naturally with other silver jewellery and have a timeless quality that suits almost any wardrobe.
Bevel takes a more architectural approach. Clean circular forms with softly sculpted curves, understated and refined. The Bevel Cirque hoops are a strong everyday earring, and the Bevel Trilogy pieces mix silver, gold and rose gold in a way that feels modern rather than matchy. This is another very popular collection at Niche.
Entwine and Alicia are two of the most popular collections at Niche, and it's easy to see why. These pieces feature interlocking and twisting forms in sterling silver - the Alicia designs in particular, with their woven, intertwining strands, have a sculptural quality that works as an everyday piece or something a little more special for an evening out. The bracelet designs are also a customer favourite, with an adjustable fit that makes them easy to wear and genuinely comfortable all day.
Desire covers the heart-led pieces, including the Desire Kiss Mini Heart drop earrings and pendant necklace. These sit firmly in meaningful gift territory, particularly for anniversaries and romantic occasions.
Blossom Flyte is where nature comes in. The Honey Bee pieces are detailed and sculptural with 18ct gold plating on the bee detail against rhodium silver. One of the most giftable ranges in the collection, these pieces are particularly popular in the Spring and Summer months.
Mirage is at the statement end of the Kit Heath range. Hammered and dappled silver textures on hinged bangles and hoop earrings, with a weight and presence that makes these feel like investment pieces.
Serenity, Marina, Feather and Array round out the range with fluid, sculptural pieces: loops, knots, wisp-like pendants and cascading drop earrings. These tend to appeal to Kit Heath regulars who want something beyond the core collections.
How to wear Kit Heath
The brand is built for layering, and the pieces are scaled to work together without competing. A Coast Pebble slider bracelet alongside a Bevel Trilogy bangle is a natural combination that needs no overthinking. For necklaces, Kit Heath's strength is in combining different lengths: a Desire Kiss heart pendant at a shorter drop alongside a longer Marina Tide Knot necklace works well with most necklines.
The pieces also sit naturally alongside jewellery from other brands. The silver tones work particularly well with Ania Haie and Scream Pretty if you're building a mixed silver stack. Clogau is another top quality sterling silver brand you can mix and match with Kit Heath.
Kit Heath as a gift
Kit Heath comes in branded presentation boxes that feel considered, which matters when you're giving as a gift. The pieces sit at a price point of roughly £35 to £350, with most everyday pieces falling between £55 and £175, making them a great choice for birthdays, anniversaries and Christmas without requiring a significant stretch.
The Desire Kiss range suits romantic occasions and anniversaries particularly well. The Entwine and Alicia pieces make a strong choice for birthdays and milestone gifts, with a sculptural quality that feels personal and distinctive without being obviously occasion-specific. And for someone who's harder to buy for, the Coast and Bevel pieces are versatile enough to suit most styles.
As an authorised Kit Heath stockist, we carry a curated selection in store and online. If you want to see the pieces in person before buying, you'll find them at Niche in Leigh-on-Sea.
